Xin Tao is currently a lecturer at Department of Geographical Sciences, University of Maryland, USA.
In 2002, he was admitted to Peking University's Geographic Information Systems program from Lichuan No. 1 High School in Jiangxi Province, China.
He received two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree from Peking University and a PhD degree from University of Maryland.
He taught at the University at Buffalo from 2017 to 2023, and at the Singapore Institute of Management from 2020 to 2023.
He currently resides in the Society Hill neighborhood of Cherry Hill.
Due to work requirements, he frequently travels back and forth between Maryland and New Jersey.
